Sea Shipping to Vietnam: Requirements for Wooden Packaging Marking and Certificate of Origin

Vietnamese Customs stipulates that the wooden packaging used for imported goods must be marked with the IPPC logo to prove that it has undergone quarantine treatment and meets the requirements of the International Plant Protection Convention. If the wooden packaging has no IPPC logo, the goods may be detained by the customs for quarantine treatment, resulting in additional costs and delays. For imported goods enjoying tariff preferences, it is necessary to provide a certificate of origin issued by the official institution of the exporting country. The certificate must indicate the origin, production process, raw materials and other information of the goods. The content of the certificate of origin must be true and accurate, consistent with the actual situation of the goods, otherwise, the corresponding tariff preferences may not be enjoyed. Shippers should strictly abide by the regulations of Vietnamese Customs when preparing wooden packaging and related documents to ensure the smooth import of goods.
