Turkey’s Customs Union Regulations and Eurasian Transit Packaging Standards
Turkey’s transportation regulations align with EU standards through its Customs Union membership while maintaining Eurasian trade adaptations. All imports must be declared through the Turkish Customs “E-Declaration” system, with HS codes using 10-digit classification compatible with both EU and CIS systems. Products transiting to Central Asia require additional transit documentation (TIR Carnet).
Packaging must facilitate both sea and land transportation, with reinforced pallet designs (minimum 18mm plywood) for long-distance trucking. Food products must meet TSE (Turkish Standards Institution) certification, with labels in Turkish including “Besin Değerleri” (Nutritional Values). Textile products require care labels in Turkish (“Bakım Talimatları”) with international care symbols. Temperature-sensitive goods use “Sıcaklık Kontrollü” (Temperature Controlled) packaging with data loggers for transit monitoring.
