Vietnam’s TCVN Certification and Mekong Delta Packaging Requirements

Vietnam’s regulations align with ASEAN standards through TCVN (Vietnamese Standards) certification. Imports must be declared via the “VNACCS/VCIS” customs system, with Vietnamese-English documentation. Regulated products (electronics, food, cosmetics) need TCVN certification from the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ).

Tropical humidity-resistant packaging is critical, with minimum 60μm polyethylene liners for paper boxes. Agricultural machinery destined for Mekong Delta requires corrosion-resistant coatings (salt spray tested to ASTM B117 for 500 hours). Food packaging displays “Thông tin dinh dưỡng” (Nutritional Information) in Vietnamese and must be BPA-free. Electrical goods show “Chứng nhận an toàn” (Safety Certificate) and 220V/50Hz markings. Wooden packaging needs ISPM 15 certification with Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture stamp.
