Shipping E-cigarettes to Italy
Italy enforces EU TPD through the Ministry of Health and Customs Agency (Agenzia delle Dogane). E-cigarettes are legal but subject to strict labeling and safety requirements.
E-liquids with nicotine are capped at 20mg/ml, and tanks at 2ml. Labels must be in Italian, with warnings like “La nicotina crea dipendenza” (Nicotine is addictive) and a list of ingredients. All products must have CE marking and a batch number for traceability.
Transporting e-cigarettes to Italy requires compliance with REACH for e-liquid ingredients—ensure all chemicals are registered with ECHA. Lithium batteries must be packed according to ADR for road transport, with each package labeled “Batterie agli ioni di litio” (Lithium Ion Batteries).
Customs documentation includes a commercial invoice, EORI number, and TPD compliance certificate. Italy imposes 22% VAT on e-cigarettes, plus a regional tax varying by location (e.g., 10% in Lombardy). Customs may inspect shipments to check for counterfeit products, so include proof of authenticity.
