Fujian boasts a long history of over 400 years in watchmaking and has achieved remarkable success in export. In 2024, Fujian exported 3.3 billion yuan worth of watches and parts, ranking third nationwide. Watch exports, for example, saw rapid growth to ASEAN, reaching 490 million yuan in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 98.5%, ranking second nationwide in terms of export volume. Private enterprises are the main force in Fujian’s watch and parts exports. In 2024, they exported 2.82 billion yuan worth of watches and parts, a year-on-year increase of 24%, accounting for 85.5% of Fujian’s total watch and parts exports during the same period. Hengli, for example, sells 80% of its products overseas. By accelerating product upgrades and focusing on customer needs, the company’s watch exports reached 145 million yuan in 2024, a significant year-on-year increase of 83%. Fujian’s watch exports demonstrate unique advantages and a positive development momentum in terms of industry scale, market expansion, and enterprise development.
