Philippines Import Health Products Operation Guide and Precautions

Registration and Certification: All imported health products must be registered with the Philippines Food and Drug Administration (FDA Philippines). When registering, you need to submit a registration application form, product ingredient list, efficacy statement, safety and effectiveness report, manufacturer’s GMP certificate and other documents. For products claiming to have specific health effects, relevant scientific research or clinical data support is required.
Label requirements: The label must be in English or Filipino. The content includes product name, ingredient list, efficacy statement, method of consumption, shelf life, storage conditions, manufacturer and importer information, net content, etc. If the product contains common allergens, it must be clearly marked.
Import process
Importer registration: Importers need to register with the Philippines FDA and obtain an importer license. When registering, you need to submit company registration certificate, importer application form and other documents.
Apply for an import license: After the product registration is completed, the importer applies for an import license from the Philippines FDA and submits food registration certificate, importer registration certificate, transportation documents, customs declaration form and other materials.
Customs clearance procedures: After the goods arrive at the Philippine port, the importer submits customs clearance documents such as import license, food registration certificate, commercial invoice, packing list, etc. Customs will inspect the goods, check the documents and the actual objects, and ensure that the products meet the import requirements.
Payment of taxes and fees: Pay tariffs, value-added tax and other taxes and fees in accordance with the regulations of the Philippine Customs.
Market sales: After customs clearance, the products can be sold in the Philippine market. Importers must ensure that the products comply with food safety regulations during storage, transportation and sales.
Precautions
Strictly review the label: Ensure that the label information is accurate, especially the ingredients and efficacy descriptions, to avoid product registration rejection or recall due to labeling problems.
Understand special requirements: For some special categories of health products, such as organic health products, functional health products, etc., there may be additional certification or certification material requirements, and importers need to understand and prepare in advance.
Choose reliable suppliers: Establish a good cooperative relationship with Chinese suppliers to ensure that their product quality is stable and that they can provide the required documents and products on time.
