Shipping E-cigarettes to Greece
Greece enforces EU TPD rules through the Ministry of Health, with additional measures to prevent youth access to e-cigarettes. Importing e-cigarettes requires compliance with both EU and national regulations.
E-cigarettes must have 2ml tanks and e-liquids with nicotine up to 20mg/ml. Labels must be in Greek, with warnings such as “Η νικοτίνη είναι μια επιθετική ουσία” (Nicotine is an addictive substance) and a list of ingredients. Flavored e-liquids are allowed but cannot be marketed as “child-friendly.”
For transportation, Greek customs require lithium batteries to be packed in accordance with ADR standards for road transport. Air shipments via Athens International Airport must include a declaration of battery type and quantity, as per IATA rules.
Documentation includes a commercial invoice, a certificate of conformity with TPD, and an EORI number. Duties are 6.5% for e-cigarettes, plus 24% VAT. Note that Greece has strict penalties for counterfeit products—ensure all e-cigarettes are genuine and properly labeled to avoid seizure.
