Shipping E-cigarettes to Sweden
Sweden follows EU TPD regulations, overseen by the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten) and Customs Service. E-cigarettes containing nicotine are legal but subject to strict controls.
E-liquids with nicotine are limited to 20mg/ml, and tank capacity is capped at 2ml. Labels must be in Swedish, with warnings such as “Nikotin är beroendeframkallande” (Nicotine is addictive) and a list of ingredients. All products must have CE marking and be packaged in child-resistant containers.
Transporting e-cigarettes to Sweden requires compliance with ADR regulations for road transport and IATA guidelines for air freight of lithium batteries. Each package must be labeled “Litiumjonbatterier” (Lithium Ion Batteries) with the UN number 3480.
Customs documentation includes a commercial invoice, EORI number, and TPD compliance certificate. Sweden imposes a 25% VAT on e-cigarettes, plus a tobacco tax of SEK 0.40 per ml of nicotine e-liquid. Folkhälsomyndigheten may inspect shipments to verify compliance, so retaining batch test reports is important.
