Iran’s ISIRI Standards and Persian Gulf Climate Packaging Requirements
Iran’s imports are regulated by the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI). Products must meet ISIRI standards with the “ISIRI Mark” for market access. Declarations are submitted through the “Customs Automation System” (CAS), with Persian-English documentation mandatory. Some products require import permits from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
Packaging must resist Persian Gulf humidity (average 75%) and high temperatures. Metal components use anti-corrosion coatings tested to ISIRI 9383 standards. Food packaging displays “اطلاعات غذایی” (Nutritional Information) in Persian and includes Halal certification (“حلال”). Electrical goods show “مهر ایمنی” (Safety Seal) and 220V/50Hz markings. Wooden packaging needs ISIRI-approved fumigation with Persian markings indicating treatment type.
