Norway’s Environmental Regulations and Arctic Climate Packaging Standards
Norway implements EU standards with additional environmental requirements through the Norwegian Environment Agency. All imports must comply with “Miljøforskrifter” (Environmental Regulations), with packaging needing environmental declarations. Electrical products require “Elektro-sikkerhet” (Electrical Safety) certification from Nemko.
Arctic climate packaging is essential, with materials tested to -30°C for northern regions. Insulated packaging must maintain product integrity for 72 hours at -25°C. Plastic packaging must contain 50% recycled content and be marked with Norwegian recycling codes (“Genbruksmerke”). Food packaging displays “Næringsinnhold” (Nutritional Information) in Norwegian with “Utløpsdato” (Expiry Date). Wooden packaging must be 100% FSC-certified with Norwegian Forestry Service documentation.
