Poland’s EU Alignment Regulations and Eastern European Transit Packaging Standards

Poland serves as a key EU transit hub with regulations mirroring EU directives. All imports must be declared through the Polish Customs “e-Deklaracja” system, using the EU’s 8-digit HS code classification. Products requiring CE marking must display the certificate number and notified body information. For goods transiting to other EU countries, the “Transit Procedure” (T1 document) is mandatory to avoid repeated customs checks.

Packaging must withstand Eastern European climate variations, with temperature-resistant materials for both -20°C winters and 30°C summers. Pallets must comply with EN 13698-1 standards (1200x800mm or 1200x1000mm) with maximum load capacity clearly marked. Food packaging requires Polish-language labels including “Składniki” (Ingredients) and “Termin ważności” (Expiry Date). Wooden packaging must bear ISPM 15 marks and EU phytosanitary certificates for agricultural products. Electrical goods need Polish-language user manuals with safety warnings (“Ostrzeżenie – Nie dotykajuch electrodes”).
